The Federal Communications Commission is just finishing up a proceeding that will set the guidelines for an economic study that was mandated by the Local Community Radio Act of 2010. This study, mandated by Congress will review the economic impacts that may be faced by "full service" (regular AM and FM broadcast stations) as a result of new LPFM stations being added, especially those that may be on third adjacent channels, which is one of the most significant benefits of the LCRA. The reply comment period on this proceeding closes on Monday, July 25.
